I went through & set my whole environment from scratch & the above step 
did not work after all.  Twice I've managed to get pylint working in 
pydev/eclipse but have no idea how (magic).

I've noticed that when I run pylint.bat from the command line (something 
I've never needed to do before) I get the same problem reported here:
