[Python-projects] pylint, pyreverse : what python use?

In my ~/GLo directory, i have a link
python -> /usr/bin/python2.5

Now, I wonder if it's the good way.
I am on the way to use my python2.5 installed through
the debian packaging system.
Would it better use a dedicated development version of python2.5.1
compiled especially for pylint project?
